Some couples arrive already knowing who they are. They do not need to be guided toward a vision. They simply need someone to trust with it.
Carla and Robin were that couple.
From the very beginning, there was a stillness to them. A calm confidence in what they wanted and a generosity in how they gave me the space to bring it to life. Working with a couple like this is one of the rarest gifts in this work. And the result, a wedding at Château de Mirwart that felt completely and utterly like them, is one I will carry with me for a long time.

Château de Mirwart: A Wedding Venue Unlike Any Other
Château de Mirwart sits in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes, surrounded by forest, fields, and a kind of deep natural quiet that is increasingly rare to find. It is a venue that does not perform. It simply exists, and it invites everything around it to do the same.
For Carla and Robin, it was the perfect canvas. She is Luxembourgish, rooted in this part of the world in the way that only someone who grew up near its forests and stone villages can be. He is Chinese, bringing a different kind of richness to the story. Together they chose a place that felt neither too formal nor too casual. A place with history and soul and enough beauty to hold everything they brought to it.
This is not a venue you style into submission. It is a venue you listen to.

The Design: Organic, Intimate, and Deeply Personal
The design concept for this wedding was built around restraint and nature. Nothing forced. Nothing excessive. Every element chosen to feel as though it had always belonged in this space.
The florals were created by Catherine Alves, with white blooms and natural greenery that complemented the château’s understated elegance without competing with it.
Rentals and design elements were sourced through Options Luxembourg, whose pieces added warmth and character without competing with the natural setting. Every table, every chair, every surface was chosen with the full room in mind.
The stationery told its own story. Save the dates and invitations were designed by Paulo, a talented freelance graphic designer, and printed by Ossa. Vow books came from Ivy Design, and the seating plan and name ribbons were crafted by Medusa. Each piece felt intentional and considered, extending the visual language of the wedding long before guests arrived at the château.

A Multicultural Celebration, Beautifully Held
One of the things I love most about this wedding is how quietly and completely it honored both of them.
There was no grand gesture toward either culture. No forced fusion. Instead, the day simply reflected two people who come from different worlds and have built something entirely their own. That is the kind of multicultural celebration I find most moving. Not one that performs its differences, but one that wears them naturally.
The ceremony was officiated by François Benoy, Carla’s cousin, which gave the entire day a sense of family and intimacy that no professional officiant could replicate. There is something irreplaceable about being married by someone who has known you your whole life. It changes the weight of the words.
Catering and the wedding cake were both handled by Steffen Traiteur, whose work brought an elegance and quality to the table that matched the setting completely.

The Details That Made It Theirs
Carla’s bridal look was built across two beautiful dresses. She wore a gown by Alexandra Grecco and a second by Wild at Heart Bridal, paired with a veil from Rue de Seine. The combination was soft, romantic, and completely her. Hair and makeup were in the hands of Agnès de Nengelsman, whose work brought a natural, luminous quality to Carla’s look throughout the day.
Music and atmosphere were led by We Are XO, with DJ Kornell keeping the energy of the evening exactly where it needed to be. Sound and lighting transformed the château after dark into something that felt completely alive.
Not just experience with weddings. Experience with this specific kind of intimacy.

On Planning This Wedding
I was brought in for the full decor concept and coordination of this celebration, and it is the kind of brief I find most creatively fulfilling. To be trusted with the vision, not just the logistics, is a different kind of responsibility. It asks more and gives more in return.
Carla and Robin gave me that trust completely. They were calm where other couples panic. They were present where other couples disappear into the details. They let me do my work and showed up on their wedding day ready to feel everything.
When Carla and Robin were asked about their experience for their feature on The Anti Bride, they described it in a way that stopped me in my tracks. They said I was a calming yet fun presence who guided them through the entire process, and that it felt more like having a friend by their side than a vendor. That I completely understood their vision and somehow brought it to life even better than they could have imagined.
There is nothing more meaningful to me than reading words like that. It is exactly why I do this work.
I approach every wedding with one guiding question: what do I want this couple to feel when they look back on this day? For Carla and Robin, the answer wrote itself. Held. Seen. Celebrated in a space that felt made for them, by people who genuinely cared.
That is what a Château de Mirwart wedding can be when it is done with intention. And it is exactly what this one was.

The château is beautiful across all seasons, but late spring through early fall offers the richest natural backdrop, with the surrounding Ardennes forest at its most lush and alive.
